There was also my love for Knight Rider (1982-1986), but that had very little to do with David Hasselhoff, as it did with K.I.T.T (Knight Industries Two Thousand), the talking car, which I thought was the coolest thing imaginable! (Jeez, how lame was that!)

Of course, when I look back at these shows now, I can’t help but wonder, “Huh???” I simply don’t get what I liked about them. That just goes to show how much we change over time, sometimes for the better, a few of the times, not. I miss the innocence that comes with watching a show and just accepting everything at face value. So what if in one scene the man was wearing black shoes, and in the very next clip, he’s wearing brown? So what if the story is trying to convince me that the moon is really made out of cheese? So what if the romance is unbelievably clichéd?
I guess on the upside, in a couple of decades from now, I’ll look back at the shows I watch now, like House, Monk, Alias etc, and I’d shake my head disbelievingly that I used to actually enjoy them…and the cycle continues.

Hey, in all these years, there has never NEVER ever been a car to match KITT!! Ever!!
Not even with all these hi-tech shows.
McGyver was cool, made science fun. The plots were a bit lame, but the science was real, believe it or not. Just like the cases on House MD are actually real cases.
Hey, did you know there was a spin-off tv show called Team Knight Rider back in 1997? It only lasted one season, 22 episodes, and it was about 5 highly trained operatives who were paired with 5 state-of-the-art vehicles (Dante, Domino, Beast, Kat and Plato).
And it was crap!!
